Nadal is definitely one of the favorites to win US Open this year. If the top guys keep up this high level of tennis, this year's US Open will be epic with potential semifinalists of Djokovic vs Medvedev and Federer vs Nadal. Can't wait.

451 HC wins, 10 masters 1000 on HC, 4 slams in HC, overall 21 titles on HC, only player in current era to win rogers-cincinatti-usopen in same season. Only player in history to win 400 plus matches each on 2 surfaces ( 429 on clay, 451 on HC)...18 slams and counting, the ultimate fighter in history of sport. The name is Rafa Nadal.

Nadal's game is so solid that despite having one of the slowest and weakest serves on tour he has one of the highest serve win % and is one of the greatest of all time. He doesn't rely on cheap points to win. He outplays the opponent in rallies. To me, that's what tennis really is; not a match were 75% of all the points are aces or unreturned serves.

Actually, his serve has improved considerably. It is now a weapon. For example, look at his number of aces in Wimbledon compared to Federer by the end of the fourth round. Nadal had more.

Tabulate all the records of the big 3. All of them including most number of grand slams, most number of masters 1000. Most number of this or that. And you will find out Nadal is the GOAT. But wait, there is more. Nadal has one record that no one will ever beat. And that is the 12 RG. The other two's records can be beaten, but Nadal's wont ever be.

Yeah Rafa played well, but that Medvedev performance was nothing short of pathetic and made the match hardly worth watching…. it wasn’t even competitive. I still don’t understand how he’s so highly ranked: he’s just a tall glorified PUSHER in my opinion. Yeah his strokes are competent but thats about it. Like everyone else, I do enjoy the magnificence of the 3 Goats, but I wonder if their brilliance is going to give us all a hangover. Because if they consistently beat the snot out of the next-Gen, how / when will those youngsters ever develop the match-confidence they need to grow, flourish, and come into their own? After the big-3 leave, we are going to be knee-deep in tennis mediocrity - a drought is coming !

Besides Djokovic and Federer, Nadal is better than anybody else on the circuit, even on hard courts. He's won 10 M1000 on this surface, 3 US Open (+ 1 final) and 1 AO (+ 3 finals), despite being injured more often than not in the 2nd halves of the season. It is way better than Wawrinka, Cilic & Co.

Guys like Medvedev and especially Zverev they're chumps, They have that pussy ass demeanor on court which lets their opponent know they can be had. And the next gen guys who have competitive fight like say Borna Coric probably don't have enough weapons. Tsisipas? Maybe but I'm not convinced by him either. Good to see Rafa w/out injury concerns . Wow. 6-3, 6-0. That is crazy lopsided for a final. There are just no players with complete games after Novak, Nadal and Roger. The young guys can all serve and return well and they can all hit big from the backcourt, but that's it. You're just not going to beat Nadal ever with that game. Occasionally, Novak will lose his way and he allows someone to get close or he will even get beat, but it's never because the other guy did something different, it's just a loss of focus by Novak. I've never seen Nadal lose focus for 1 shot so he is unbeatable by anyone not named Roger or Novak. Roger has bouts of inconsistency where he is vulnerable to upsets, but Roger is still the reason why Roger loses. The ATP has become like College football. There are only 3 players who can win in New York. Is anyone else going to ever step up and figure this out? I feel like the player's coaches and camps need to think differently here.

Congrats to Nadal! Advanced age... Not his favorite surface... Fighting injuries... None of it matters! His victory clearly shows how superior he is against the rest of the field.
The "big 3" are head and shoulders above the field -- mentally and skill wise. They are so far ahead that the only thing that will stop them is old age. I frankly believe that Fed can play till 45... Nadal and Novak can play till at least 40. So get ready tour for another 7 years, at minimum, of serious ass punking! I couldn't be happier! Once the "big 3" will have to retire because they are all in a nursing home, the tour will certainly go back to sucking again.
